Salary: $60, 000 to $80, 000 CDN
Supplemental pay types: Bonus pay based on performance
A robust and exciting entry level position and wonderful opportunity for someone to gain footing in the industry and grow. Preferrable for someone primed with a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, commerce, economics, or geology; OR a college/university diploma in a related field combined with relevant work experience in finance or geology/mining.
Team player with an ‘all hands-on deck’ mentality a must. Understanding of how to manage priorities and tasks is essential (scheduling, tracking, basic project management). An eye for detail, an ability to communicate information by email, by phone, via business correspondence, and over virtual meetings is important. Training will be provided – however a self-starter personality is needed to fit our hybrid operations model. There may be roadblocks at times in projects – the individual in question will not be deterred by the final objective and keep going, finding new strategies and ultimately persevering.

Flexible project deadlines and work hours, however responding to communications ASAP and with a sensitivity and respect for urgency is imperative. Lead time will always be given for large onsite projects. Participation in virtual core team meetings (repeating), as well as any weekly PM admin or daily meetings that may be called.
Reporting directly to the Associate Portfolio Manager, and the Portfolio Manager.
This position is centered around the support of our investment team. Working directly with the Associate Portfolio Manager and Portfolio Manager, the Analyst will collect and analyze crucial industry related financial data to provide information for the executives of the company and the company’s funds, most notably, our boutique flow-through ‘Pavilion Flow Through Fund’. Knowledge of Canadian resource sector and mining a bonus.

Collect financial and investment information about companies, stocks, and other investments using in-person meetings, daily reports, economic forecasts, trading volumes, financial periodicals, securities manuals, company financial statements and other financial reports and publications

Examine and analyze financial and investment information collected, including profiles of companies, stock and bond prices, yields and future trends and other investment information

Provide investment summaries, advice and recommendations to senior company officials, and associates

Prepare company, industry and economic outlooks, analytical reports, briefing notes and correspondence

Research new names and opportunities

Daily watchlist news reporting

Update and work with proprietary warrant calculator (advanced use of Excel necessary, and use of LSEG workspace is preferred)

Provide competitive analysis and competitor NAV tracking

Act as a touchpoint with Issuers, broker, etc.

Support Associate Portfolio Manager and PM team as needed

Other ad hoc duties as assigned
